One of the most famous pop stars, Taylor Swift has won a sexual harassment case against DJ David Mueller, who she claimed had groped her 2013 concert.
She was awarded a dollar as compensation for her damages.
Mr. Mueller tried to sue her, claiming that her claims had cost him his job but the lawsuit was canceled by a judge last week.
Mueller’s similar claims against Taylor’s mother, Andrea Swift, and her radio liaison, Frank Bell were also rejected.
Taylor Swift, following the verdict, said, ‘I acknowledge the privilege that I benefit from in life, in society and in my ability to shoulder the enormous cost of defending myself in a trial like this’.
‘My hope is to help those whose voices should also be heard. Therefore, I will be making donations in the near future to multiple organizations that help sexual assault victims defend themselves,’ she further said.
Mueller was fired from his radio station job two days after the incident and Taylor Swift’s complaint to the department.
Last Friday, Swift’s ex-bodyguard testified in court saying that he saw Mueller sexually harassing her.
