135 killed as 7.4 magnitude quake hits Iran-Iraq border


Breaking News – Iran (NEWZ247) Approximately 135 people have been killed and loads greater injured while a 7.3 magnitude earthquake shook the mountainous Iran-Iraq border triggering landslides that were hindering rescue efforts, officials stated on Monday.

Footage’s posted on Twitter confirmed panicked people fleeing a constructing in Sulaimaniyah, northern Iraq, as windows shattered in the intervening time the quake struck overdue Sunday, at the same time as pictures from the nearby town of Darbandikhan confirmed major walls and concrete systems had collapsed.

Iranian state broadcaster IRIB stated 129 have been dead in an updated toll published on its website while the reliable Iran News agency stated some three hundred people have been injured, adding that the toll was anticipated to rise.

Six others have been said lifeless at the Iraq aspect of the border.

“We’re in the procedure of putting in three emergency alleviation camps,” stated Mojtaba Nikkerdar.
